Jeff McKinney is a member of HPLP’s workers’ compensation defense team in the Charleston office. His practice focuses on workers’ compensation defense, representing and counseling insurance carriers, employers, self-insureds, and others throughout South Carolina to resolve disputes efficiently.

Jeff was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. After graduating from Randolph School, he earned a Batchelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Birmingham-Southern College. During his time at Birmingham-Southern, he focused his studies on business operations and logistical aspects in the manufacturing and transportation industries. He then received his Juris Doctor degree from the Charleston School of Law, where he served on both the Judicial Board and Trial Advocacy Board.

Outside the office, Jeff is an avid outdoorsman and sportsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. He is also a lifelong supporter of Alabama Crimson Tide Athletics and the Atlanta Falcons. Even though he isn’t a native South Carolinian, he has developed a deep affection for the Lowcountry and proudly calls Charleston his home.
