Anne Downs is a member of HPLP’s workers’ compensation defense team in the Charleston office, representing employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in various industries throughout South Carolina.

She was born and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from James Madison University. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law, where she served as the Senior Articles Editor for the Charleston Law Review, was a Legal Research and Writing Fellow, and represented clients facing eviction with the Homelessness Justice Project Clinic. She was recognized as a Presidential Honors Scholar and served on the school’s Judicial Board.

Outside of work, Anne loves spending time on the Charleston beaches with her dog, Murphy.
