Stokely Holder is one of the founding members of HPL+P. He focuses his diverse civil litigation practice on representing clients in the areas of commercial, construction, business, and real estate law. Stokely has a passion for helping clients in their time of need, no matter the size or stature of a client or their matter. He is currently admitted to practice law in both the State Court of South Carolina and the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.

Stokely previously served as a partner with a Greenville-based civil litigation firm after first beginning his legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Edward W. Miller of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit of South Carolina.

Stokely feels blessed to have been raised in the Upstate Community by a family with deep roots serving as leaders in the area, whose impacts on him, the local community, and beyond continue to serve as standard bearers for Stokely and his State-wide practice. Being the first attorney in his family, he openly acknowledges that his journey to lead and help others would not be possible but for the support, guidance and examples set by his family members, including his wife and mother to their 3 children, Elizabeth P. Holder (Senior Director of a national healthcare provider); his parents, Mr. Edward P. Holder, Jr. (former President and current CEO of Holder Electric Supply, Inc.) and Mrs. Wyline Stokely Holder (former Title 1 Elementary School Teacher); his late maternal grandparents, Mr. Murray Marvin Stokely (former President and CEO of J.E. Sirrine Company) and Mrs. Wyline Baird Stokely (former Elementary and High School English Teacher); and his late paternal grandparents, Mr. Edward Paul Holder, Sr. (former President and CEO of Holder Electric Supply, Inc.) and Mrs. Mary Cash Holder (former registered nurse, one of the first female graduates of the Greenville General Hospital School of Nursing).

Stokely has enjoyed serving in a number of volunteer and membership roles for various community and charitable organizations. He and his family fund a foundation that makes significant contributions to various charities, community organizations, teachers, and student scholarships. He sits on the Board of Directors for Holder Electric Supply, Inc. He served on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Governor’s Cup Billfishing Series for nine (9) years (through the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources), including as Chairman of the Board. He is an active participant in numerous wildlife and fishing conservation associations and is a former Vice President and President of the Greenville Saltwater Sportfishing Club. Stokely is also a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville.

When not in the office, you will most likely find Stokely chasing his other passions somewhere outdoors- whether on salt water, on a farm, on a golf course, or watching his children play the sports they love.
