Sarah A. Shahid is a member of HPLP’s workers’ compensation defense team in the Charleston office, representing employers, insurers, and self-insureds in a wide array of industries.  Prior to joining HPLP, Sarah served for several years as an attorney with a large, South Carolina-based defense firm, gaining experience defending insurance carriers and employers in workers’ compensation claims.

Sarah was born and raised in Chapin, South Carolina.  After graduating from Chapin High School, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Spanish from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC.  As a Spanish major, she spent a semester abroad in Madrid, Spain completing a legal studies program.  She later received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.  Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, baking and decorating specialty sugar cookies, and any excuse to be festive.
