TJ is a member of HPLP’s Workers’ Compensation defense team in Greenville, South Carolina. Prior to joining HPLP, he worked for a regional defense firm for nearly a decade representing carriers, employers, self-insureds, and third-party administrators. TJ began his career as a Staff Attorney at the South Carolina Court of Appeals after receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he received the CALI award for Workers’ Compensation and was a member of the Moot Court Bar.

Born and raised in the Bluegrass State, TJ then attended Clemson University to study Professional Golf Management and joined the Waterski Team. During his time at Clemson, TJ completed several internships at various golf facilities in the United States, including Pebble Beach Golf Links. Upon graduating, TJ worked as a PGA Golf Professional in Alabama before returning to South Carolina for law school.

When not in the office, TJ can be found outside where he is likely finessing his GHIN Index, water skiing or playing tennis with his wife, exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains with his daughters, or reading Calvin & Hobbes.
